Not a very strong pack in terms of gameplay upgrades, Price of Loyalty does not add any new creatures, and will appeal mostly to those who like to play campaigns and absolute fans who want to experience every last artifact and map location. It requires the original game in order to work. The pack adds a new set of campaigns, artifacts and map locations. Heroes of Might and Magic 2: Price of Loyalty is an expansion pack for Heroes of Might and Magic 2: The Succession Wars that has been developed by Cyberlore Studios.
Necro attitude is evil, but not in a nasty way. Zombies and Liches also got an excellent attitude and sounds to match the Vamps.

No other HOMM series Vampire comes close to HOMM2, in my opinion. The game sounds are great, I've had lots of laughs while playing the Necromancer town for the fist time, especially the Vampire's "Bla!" accompanied by their funnily prideful evil appearance. What is really loveable about Heroes of Might and Magic 2 is the preserved cartoonish style from HOMM1, which disappeared in HOMM3. A player can have multiple heroes either running or sailing around the map or garrisoned in a castle.Ĭompared to HOMM1, HOMM2 features two more castles with respective sets of creatures - Wizard and Necromancer, 14 secondary skills for heroes to learn, larger battlefields, improved combat and spell systems and an amazing opera sountrack. Usually the aim is to rule the world by defeating all other heroes and capturing all of their castles. It is based around the same concept as Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest - heroes running around the map with creatures in their armies, battling other creature and hero armies, gaining experience and learning new skills, collecting resources and artifacts, capturing mines and castles and building improvements to existing castles in order to produce and hire more powerful creatures. Given its low time/effort investment, its still worth a shot, though.Heroes of Might and Magic 2: The Succession Wars is a turn based strategy war game for PC.

Sometimes editing the compatibility settings of an application can get it to run in newer Windows versions than the one it was designed for, but given that the game is so old, it's unlikely to work. This is pretty similar to your VirtualBox solution, but if you've got it built into the OS, you might as well use this as a shortcut. If you have the Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise editions of Windows 7, Microsoft Support suggests using Windows XP mode to run HOMM2. DOSBox rates this game as "playable" and you can use the user reports on that page to avoid any common errors and understand what might not work properly. There are many older games that run under DOSBox, and it's pretty easy to set up and maintain compared to a virtual machine or similar solution.
Most people are using DOSBox, and if you have access to the DOS edition of the game, it's worth setting up and using. There's no specific emulator for the HOMM series, from what I can tell.
